Sometime battery-mates for the Texas Rangers, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Neftali Feliz (you have no idea how hard it was to type that combo correctly) share today as their birthday, Jarrod was born in 1985 and Neftali in 1988.

Major league baseball Hall of Famer Eddie Collins was born May 2, 1887 in Millerton, New York.  Eddie played in 25 seasons for the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox.  As of the start of the 2010 season he still ranked #7 on the all-time stolen bases list.

Famous cross-dresser and FBI director J. Edgar Hoover died on this day in 1972.
